Sierras Construction LLC was established in November, 2005 and has quickly earned a reputation for performance excellence based on our team's knowledge, experience and safety record in the most challenging environments.
Sierras Construction currently offers complete General Contracting, Electrical, HVAC, Security, ITS & Traffic signals design and installation either in house or through key partners that collaborate to our projects' successes.
Our personnel has proven experience participating in very important projects in several countries across the world. This experience has given our management team and field employees a comprehensive understanding of the Owner’s and General Contractor’s perspective and needs. Sierras Construction was created to fulfill those needs.Our company understands its business as a service to our customers, and will overcome obstacles based on a team building approach and field coordination and cooperation, providing a service with the knowledge and attention to detail that only the biggest construction companies can achieve, with the customer care approach that only smaller companies can provide.
Carlos "Fred" Martinez: Founder, Owner & President of Sierras Construction, LLC
Fred is an electronics engineer with extensive experience in all areas of the construction industry. He has participated in a management capacity on some of the largest construction projects in the world including the Arthur Ravenel Bridge, Holcim's 6000 MTY Cement Plant in South Carolina, and many others. Sierras Construction, LLC continues to thrive under his capable leadership and oversight.
Michael Crosby: Project Manager
Mike has been with Sierras Construction for over 9 years and has come up through the ranks to arrive at his current position and management responsibilities. His professional experience and education is in electrical, specializing in Communications and Low-Voltage applications. He has been exposed to numerous trades and has participated in many capacities on job sites across the Low Country of South Carolina to include acting Superintendent for Dental Clinic Renovations, NWS, Superintendent on the Beaufain Street-Scape Project, Superintendent on the East Bay and Calhoun Intersection Improvement Project, and many others.
Kevin Ott: Superintendent/Assistant Project Manager
Kevin has more than 32 years experience in the construction industry and possesses excellent leadership skills as well as expertise in electrical installation and maintenance service. He is well respected among his coworkers and is leaned upon heavily for his knowledge of the internal workings of the construction/electrical industry. He has participated in numerous high-profile jobs including Maintenance Service for Boeing, East Cooper Medical, East Cooper Baptist Church, and the Veteran’s Hospital of Charleston.
Coltmann Fletcher: Project Manager
Colt comes to Sierras with more than 16 years experience in diverse trades within the construction industry. He has successfully supervised and managed many multi-trade teams and is adept in planning, assigning and directing work tasks. Colt is a dedicated team player and is committed to maintaining a safe, clean working environment.
Scott Hazzard: Superintendent
Scott is a retired Air Force Major with more than 20 years experience in construction and supply chain, supervision, management and strategic & technical level planning. Scott brings to Sierras' a vast combination of educational as well as practical experience that provide him with the tools needed to approach each responsibility he is given with confidence in his ability to accomplish the task successfully.
Doug Kent: Superintendent/Assistant Project Manager
Doug is a forward-thinking project leader with a proven record of accomplishment in leading global teams in development of new products. He is valued for his breadth of product development knowledge and his ability to identify and address potential roadblocks before they become problems. This experience and knowledge make him uniquely qualified to work as a part of Sierras Construction's management team.
Vanesa R. Landete: Accounts Payable/Receivable
Vanesa has been with the company since its inception in 2005 as Manager of Accounts Payable/Receivable.
Derek Farmer: Office Manager/Safety Coordinator
Derek joined the Sierras team January, 2016 bringing to Sierras' more than 30 years experience working directly with the public and more than half that time being directly involved with office and staff management. Derek holds safety Certifications through AMHSA and OSHA, and is a Certified Instructor in First Aid, CPR, AED, and Blood Borne Pathogens, and is also certified as an Instructor in Competent Person/Authorized Person Fall Protection training.
